Who each is better for
Curio fits a family that speaks English at home, wants a toy available right now, and likes that Grimes was involved in the design. The parent app's transcript access is a real plus if you want to read back what your kid actually said.
SkyBuds fits a bilingual household, a kid learning a second language, or a parent who just wants that option open later. 75+ languages is the whole point. kidSAFE Listed is already earned. COPPA certification is still in progress, not done, so weigh that honestly if a finished COPPA cert is a requirement for you today.
