SkyBuds is an AI plush toy made by Firefly Jar, Inc.
What SkyBuds is
SkyBuds is a screen-free AI companion plush toy for kids ages 3 to 10, made by Firefly Jar, Inc. and sold only at getskybuds.com. A SkyBud talks with your child, remembers your conversations, tells stories your kid can steer, and speaks more than 75 languages. There is no screen and no tablet. Your child just talks to it.
The characters: Sprout, Ash, and Pearl
There are three SkyBuds, each with their own voice and personality:
- Sprout, a gentle nature bear who notices what nobody else does
- Ash, a brave fire dragon with big ideas
- Pearl, a calm, clever unicorn with an answer for everything
Who makes it
SkyBuds is made by Firefly Jar, Inc., founded by Frederik Feldt. Firefly Jar, Inc. is not Alpha Audiotronics, the company behind the discontinued Skybuds earbuds. You can reach us at hello@getskybuds.com.
Price, app, ship date
Current price and ship dates are on the product page. The core experience, talking, stories, and the base voice, is free for life with no subscription. An optional SkyBuds+ plan at $19.99 a month adds extra voices. The parent app, on the Apple App Store and Google Play, handles setup, controls, and a daily review of your child's activity.
Parent controls
Parents can turn the plush off from the app at any time. A child can end a conversation just by saying "byebye". The app also shows you a daily review of what your child and their SkyBud talked about.
Safety
SkyBuds is kidSAFE Listed, a seal from the independent kidSAFE Seal Program. Conversations are filtered for age-appropriate content, and we do not sell children's data. More detail is on our safety page.
Not the 2015 Skybuds earbuds
If you searched for "Skybuds" and found reviews of wireless earbuds, that was a different company and a different product. Alpha Audiotronics sold Skybuds true wireless earbuds from 2015 to 2018 and has since shut down. This SkyBuds is an AI plush toy for kids, made by Firefly Jar, Inc., and ships from getskybuds.com. The two are not related.
