Is SkyBuds Legit? The Company Facts, Straight

SkyBuds is a real product from a real company, and getskybuds.com is our only official store. We are also a young company selling a pre-order, so you are right to look us up before you pay. This page lists the facts and shows you how to verify each one yourself.
To be clear about who is talking: this is the SkyBuds blog. We make the toy. Treat everything below as claims from the seller, then go check them.
What SkyBuds is
SkyBuds are screen-free AI companion plush toys for kids ages 3 to 10. There are three characters: Ash, a brave fire dragon, Pearl, a calm and clever unicorn, and Sprout, a gentle nature bear. The toy talks back, remembers past conversations, and tells personalized stories your child can steer. It speaks more than 75 languages. The core experience of talking, stories, and the base voice is free for life, with no subscription required. An optional SkyBuds+ household membership at $19.99 a month adds extra voices.

The name mix-up
There was once another Skybuds: wireless earbuds from Alpha Audiotronics, sold from 2016 to 2018 and then discontinued. We have no connection to that company. If you search the name, you may still find old pages and reviews about earbuds. Those pages are about the earbuds and have nothing to do with our toy.
There are also stores on other domains with similar names. We cannot speak to what they sell. We can only tell you that getskybuds.com is the one official SkyBuds store, and an order placed anywhere else did not come from us and is not covered by our refund policy.
What is finished and what is not
Some things are done. We earned kidSAFE Listed status. Our refund and shipping policies are published on this site. Read the full terms there. The parent app is live on both app stores. A support phone with a human on it is running during posted hours.
Some things are not done. COPPA certification is in progress and not complete, and we will keep saying so until it is. SkyBuds is also a pre-order right now. You are paying before the toy ships, which is a bigger ask than buying something off a shelf. Read the shipping policy before you order, and check the product page for the current ship date.
Why a pre-order deserves extra scrutiny
The AI toy world has already had one painful lesson. Moxie was a $799 companion robot whose maker, Embodied, shut down in late 2024. The robots stopped working when the servers went dark in January 2025, and families got no refunds. That story should make any parent careful with young hardware companies, ours included.
Here is what we can offer against that worry. Our 30-day refund policy from delivery is published, in writing, on this site. The core talking experience is free for life, so the toy does not depend on a subscription you are forced to keep. And a human answers our phone, which is a small claim that takes two minutes to test.
How to scrutinize us

Search both app stores for the parent app by Firefly Jar, Inc. If any of those checks comes up empty, do not buy from us.
